According to Georgia Statute, Health Care Directive helps you to communicate your wishes about medical treatment for an event when you are unable to make health care decisions

According to Georgia “Advance Directive for Health Care Act” any competent adult may execute a document known as an Advance Health Care Directive.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Georgia Advance Directive for Health Care consists of four parts and combines into one document a Health Care Power of Attorney and a Living Will (Treatment Preferences). It also contains Guardianship and Organ Donation provisions.
However, you are not required to complete all parts of this Advance Directive form. You may chose to appoint your health care agent to make important health-related decisions for you, or to leave directions on kinds of life-saving treatment you want (do not want) in case you are terminally ill.
You have the right to make decisions about your health care. No health care may be given to you over your objection, and necessary health care may not be stopped or withheld if you object.
